Bagels, Bananas & Banglatown

Over centuries past, the East End has been home to French Huguenots, Jewish immigrants, Bengalis and it is now a busy mixed place full of people from all over the world.  It is as famous for its curry houses as the hipsters who have taken over in recent years.

The tour starts at the ultra modern Liverpool Street station and weaves its way into the historic East End lanes and alleyways. The tour includes a potted East End history, highlights traces of the past in the buildings, architecture & street names and shows how it all hangs together.

Unlike other tours this one is small so there are plenty of chances to stop, ask questions and try tasters of authentic food from the communities of the East End from Bengali sweet houses to traditional East End bagel bakeries.
